Lead Tutor, Literacy - Family Learning - Surrey Wide - Part Time
£12,910.50 per annum pro rata to £25,821 for working 18 hours per week, based at the Camberley Adult Learning Centre, 10 France Hill Drive, Camberley, GU15 3QB, but with regular countywide travel for teaching. This is a permanent contract for 52 weeks a year, 18 hours a week, but other work patterns will be considered.
You will therefore need to have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Our current mileage rate is 45 pence per mile.
Travel to some teaching assignments can be arranged directly from home.

We are seeking a creative, inspirational tutor to teach literacy as part of our Family Learning suite of programmes. As a lead tutor you will develop the curriculum area, design, plan and deliver high quality courses. You would join a supportive team who work closely together to improve life chances of both parents and their children.
Family Learning is an integral part of the Surrey Adult Learning Service (Ofsted Good 2016) which offers a broad range of learning opportunities to meet both local needs and government priorities.
Working in close partnership with schools & children’s centres these courses are specifically designed to help parents improve their own skills whilst learning how to support their children. Some courses are joint (parent and child) but every course links to the child’s development and this role would require making links to the child’s Literacy curriculum.

* Have a level 3 or higher subject qualification in English/Literacy and a relevant teaching qualification
