About the role
Sense are looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our professional team as an Activity Co-ordinator at our service in Dereham. This is a part time, maternity cover position, working 22.5 hours per week until October 2019.
As an Activity Co-ordinator you will encourage individuals to develop valuable, relevant life skills and experience a wide range of educational, recreational and leisure pursuits. You will support people with a range of disabilities to participate in a number of different activities offered at our Sense Centre, and to access facilities in the local community. You will also supervise team members and provide varying levels of support with personal care tasks.
We'd like to hear from you if you have experience of working with adults with disabilities, and ideally have knowledge of visual impairments, hearing impairments, physical disabilities and learning difficulties. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to plan and implement a varied activity programme.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate willingness to participate in training and development. You will need to communicate in a variety of different methods and be prepared to deal with challenging situations. You will also be expected to work on your own initiative and show patience and understanding.
