Part Time Rates & Utilities Administrator. Property Company, Potters Bar, 15 hours per week (ideally across 3 days) £20K FTE. (Ref 1842)

The Client

Our client are one of the top performing UK listed property companies in the UK who own and manage 950 properties over the mainland United Kingdom. They specialise in secondary retail, industrial and offices and also have many residential flats in several town centre locations.

They are currently looking for a Rates and Utilities Administrator on a part time basis. 

The Role

The role will be responsible for the administration of the rates and utilities associated with a range of properties. Duties will include, but is not limited to;  

  • Checking and inputting Rates and Council Tax Bills and utility bills for the Property Portfolio
  • Contacting Councils or relevant utility providers to advise new Commercial and Residential Lettings or update/correct details
  • Contact Council or relevant utility providers to request refunds
  • Payment of bills
  • Negotiation of contracts

The Candidate

Our client are hoping to engage with organised candidates with a strong ability to manage their own workload, prioritising where necessary and who are able to cope with a varied workload, sometimes under pressure. The successful candidate will be highly numerate with strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a keen eye for detail. Confidence using the Microsoft suite, specially word and excel and exposure to a property management system such as QUBE, Trace Solutions or Re-Leased  would be highly beneficial.

Experience in a similar role or one where utility and rates bills/accounts  needed to be understood & negotiated would be highly beneficial.

The Terms

This permanent position in Potters Bar is located very close to the station and is being offered on a 15 hour per week basis with an ideal working pattern across 3 days. A salary of £20K FTE with a benefits package including 20 days holiday (pro-rata), plus bank holidays and two additional Christmas closure days, a pension and an interest free season ticket loan.
