You'll be joining us as an Assistant Finance Manager, within the COO team of Group Internal Audit (GIA). GIA are the third line of defence and take a leading role in rebuilding trust for our customers, the Group and the industry. They have a vision is to become the best, by helping connect the dots across the organisation and providing advice and assurance on the Group's control framework.
Joining COO, this role will provide you with an outstanding opportunity to work closely with the GIA Senior Leadership Team (SLT). You'll work alongside the Senior Manager Finance & Operations, acting as a key interface between the COO team and the GIA teams. You'll be responsible for ensuring GIA handles its priorities and resources which will ensure you have plenty of chances to create and develop the role.
You'll provide timely, high quality reporting, insight and advice to influence business decisions - in particular providing visibility of cost performance across all cost lines to the SLT. A key part of your role will involve the development of the annual 5 Year Operating Plan and Quarterly Forecast submissions alongside monthly reporting against the approved budget/forecast position.
You'll support the management of Third Party Supplier relationships in line with contractual arrangements. This will include assisting the Audit team to identify external resources to assist in delivery of the audit plan. You'll also dedicatedly monitor performance to identify and understand emerging opportunities and risks and provide clear recommendations to mitigate those risks. Accountabilities will also include:
* Reviewing supplier work orders to ensure accuracy and creating electronic Purchase Orders on our internal system
* Logging supplier requests, from initiation through the cycles until payment
* Working with Account Payables to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner, with appropriate authorisation
* Preparing month end accruals and reports, showing actuals versus budget
* Analysing large and complex volumes of data and utilising the outputs to produce concise and insightful MI.
We're looking for you to evidence a background in a Finance related role, within a large organisation. You'll have demonstrable experience of writing reports, using both numerical data and written information, for senior level stakeholders to review. You'll be adept at delivering structured, concise messages both verbally and by competently utilising Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. You will also have the prioritisation skills and agility required, to respond to changing reporting requirements at short notice.
You'll need to be confident in resolving queries and undertaking problem solving including utilizing knowledge of people within organization to get things done. Being able to demonstrate the ability to develop and implement robust governance controls and processes are key, particularly in relation to financial management, resource management and broader business operations management.
You'll also have strong influencing and motivating skills and be able to apply these in a complex and diverse environment and have a consistent track record of delivery. Excellent analytical, presentational, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal skills are important.
