Commercial Finance Manager

Finance Business Partnering Team – Part of Finance Group, we facilitate effective financial planning and evaluation by core business functions and change programmes and provide information and analysis that meets the decision-making needs of the organisation. Working collaboratively with colleagues in the organisation and Finance Group, we assist with improving financial processes and developing financial capability whilst promoting a culture of constructive challenge and achieving value for money.

Hours: Flexible, Minimum of 30 hours per week
Salary: £34,656 (Croydon £37,841) plus £8,245 Allowance

About the role:
As Commercial Finance Manager within the Finance Business Partnering Team, you’ll be providing high-quality financial support to assist the organisation in making sound contractual decisions that optimise value for money when awarding contracts, working closely with colleagues in the Commercial Group. You’ll be involved in all stages of commercial activity, including developing scenarios for tenders, evaluating supplier submissions and monitoring ongoing contractual financial performance. Building strong working relationships will be key to your role in developing understanding and capability across the organisation in the financial aspects of commercial decisions, embedding best practice and influencing behaviours to achieve high-quality decision making.
You will be a qualified accountant who can apply your commercial finance experience to developing robust tender scenarios and Excel models which support value-for-money decision making when contracting with suppliers for both change and business-as-usual activities.
You’ll need to have good attention to detail and to gain a thorough understanding of the organisation and its plans for transformational change. Working closely with different areas across the organisation, you’ll be a strong team player with the communication skills and drive to seek continuous improvement and to develop capability in others in this important area.
