Job Purpose

Has end to end accountability for project delivery and the delivery of change in the International portfolio, which is a large growth area for RMG.  You will lead and manage the project delivery process, ensuring that selected suppliers deliver; acquiring & utilising the necessary resources & skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality.  The successful Project Manager will have a great deal of room to grow within the role and the organisation.

Key Accountabilities

•Accountable for execution of the project management process to ensure delivery, in line with RMG policies and methods including project control, risk management, change management, issue resolution, progress reporting, project documentation & administration, and quality reviews

•Management of suppliers from the approved panel, to deliver the specified requirements within RMG policies & methods; including due diligence on supplier capabilities relative to requirements

•Provision of accurate project costing, including supplier quotes & tenders, required as input to the Business Case

•Managing suppliers and project team to deliver the project within the Business Case, to the required time, cost & quality

•Facilitating testing signoff by users, and transitioning into on-going service; project closure

•Plan and monitor the project; agree plans with the Executive Project Board and submit regular Highlight Reports via Project Assurance indicating any deviations from plan at either stage or project level and any corrective action taken

•Responsible for overall progress & use of resources.  Initiate corrective action when necessary. Manage risks & contingency, escalating major risks & proposing possible solutions to Business Partners and Programme managers where necessary

•Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues where necessary

•Co-ordinate communication as agreed in the Communication Plan.

Desirable Experience

•Project Experience – Whole lifecyle management (including Qualification, Concept, Feasibility and Business Case Development)

•Project Budget Experience – £0.5M – £2M

•Project Duration Experience – >=6 months

•Team Management Experience – Matrixed or Direct

•Supplier Management Experience – Single to Multiple External Suppliers

•Technical Domain Experience – System integration, Building frameworks & developing API’s and messaging standards

•Knowledge and experience of both traditional and modern software/IT development lifecyles (Agile, Iterative and Waterfall)

•Knowledge and experience of working in Agile/Lean Values, Principles and Practices

•Knowledge and experience of working in Agile/Lean teams using SCRUM, KANBAN, XP delivery process frameworks

•Knowledge and experience of scaling Agile/Lean management and software/IT development practices

•Knowledge and experience of Continuous Improvement

•Awareness of best practices in Product Management, Architecture/Design, Testing and DevOps which support Agile/Lean

Desirable Qualifications

•Graduate level or equivalent

•Practitioner Level in Project Management (e.g. APMP, PRINCE 2, PMP or equivalent)

•Practitioner Level in Agile Project Management (e.g. Certified or Professional Scrum Master, DSDM AgilePM, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, Leading SAFe or equivalent)

Desirable Skills

•International Project Management Association Level C or above

•Practiced in all key Project Management competencies
